Using Honeywell Tuxedo Touch to Save Money on Energy

This is a green panel we have here for another application of Tuxedo Touch. This is on SmartGrid a green energy application. So Eric just talk us through what we have now.

Absolutely Ken. So we have a Tuxedo with integrated home energy monitoring capability. And what we have here is a CD clamp based meter that connects to the home's electrical box in the basement or where it comes in the garage. Basically you look at the whole home power by looking at the current consumption coming in, and we have some low modules that can look into the for example like the ac units outside. What we have here is also the Tuxedo we added anothe refature on the home screen so it goes right into the energy management looking at the instant of power consumption on teh round dial, and we have the enrgy analytics stuff to tell the homeowner how much energy they're using throughout the week.

And of course because since this is a web server, if you can view it here, you can view it on any device intelligent device on the network.

A couople of things we have are energy analytic charts. So once this fan is on this CD clamp meter is actually monitoring that current consumption and can be pulled in here. So instantly, that energy consumption went from almost nothing to 1.3 KW inside the house.

How would a home owner use this?

So the homeonwer can look at total energy use. They can now understand how much energy use. For example, when we turned the fan on, this spike went up. And once it's accumulated over time, the homeowner can now adjust the thermostat setting on the thermostat, ad if they change a degree or two, they can measure, compare what they are using this week to last week.

They can get an idea of what it's costing them.

They get the delta of their lifestyle is demanding in energy, and they can use this information to change their lifestyle to help them save energy.
