How Do I Disable Auto-Stay Arming on the Qolsys IQ Panel 2?
You can disable Auto-Stay Arming on the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 by accessing the Security and Arming Menu from within the Advanced Settings Menu. This will requiring providing either the Installer or Dealer Code for the system. You can then return to the main system screen after doing this.
Auto-Stay Arming is a protective feature that is designed to prevent false alarms caused by a user accidentally activating an interior sensor when they set their system to Arm Away. This feature goes into effect whenever a user Arms Away. During the exit delay countdown, at least one entry/exit zone must be faulted. If this does not happen, the system will automatically revert to Arm Stay mode if Auto-Stay Arming is enabled.
The intention behind Auto-Stay Arming is good, as it can prevent false alarms in many situations. However, the feature can cause some users to experience problems when testing. A user might have their system on test mode with a central monitoring station, and they want to set their system to Arm Away so that they can test interior sensors. But if the user doesn't activate an entry/exit zone during the exit delay countdown, the system will revert to Arm Stay mode, which might not be helpful for testing.
To overcome this problem without disabling the feature, the user can simply activate an entry/exit zone during the exit delay countdown. This is usually as easy as opening and closing their front door. However, some users might want to disable the feature entirely. This can be done by following the steps below:
1. Open Advanced Settings. Start from the main screen of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2. Press the small grey bar at the top of the screen. Choose Settings > Advanced Settings > Installer or Dealer Code. You will now be in Advanced Settings. The default Installer and Dealer Codes are 1111 and 2222 respectively. Either code will work.
2. Disable Auto Stay. Choose Installation, followed by Security and Arming. Scroll down to "Auto Stay", which is found under the "Arming" section. Uncheck the box next to this feature. This will disable Auto Stay Arming.
3. Return to Main Menu. Press the picture of the house at the bottom of the screen. This will return to the Main Menu and save your changes.
