How Do I Enable ADC Video Doorbell Notifications to Qolsys IQ Panel 2?
You can enable ADC Video Doorbell Notifications to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 by configuring notifications through the Alarm.com website. Any Alarm.com SkyBell device on the latest firmware can support panel notifications. The SkyBell Service Package must be enabled on your Alarm.com account.
Important Note: One thing we need to make clear is that ADC Video Doorbell Notifications are not compatible with the Qolsys IQ Remote. Doorbell video can be streamed on the remote touchscreen keypad, but notifications about Video Doorbell activity cannot be delivered to it.
An IQ Panel 2 or IQ Panel 2 Plus System can display notifications regarding a doorbell camera's built-in motion sensor detecting movement, as well as a doorbell camera's button being pressed. You can enable both types of notifications, only one type of notification, or neither type of notification.
It is also possible to have an "Answer" option appear on the IQ2 or IQ2+ when a notification comes through. This will initiate the live-streaming feature for the panel. This is only possible if the panel is properly configured for Alarm.com Camera Live-Streaming. More information can be found in this FAQ. If this feature is not set up, only a "Dismiss" option will appear when a notification comes through.
Compatible Alarm.com SkyBell devices include the Alarm.com ADC-VDB101 or 102 Round Doorbell Camera, as well as the Alarm.com ADC-VDB105 or 106 Slim Line Doorbell Camera. You should have the device already enrolled with your Alarm.com account before attempting to set up notifications. This simple process can be completed using the Alarm.com Mobile App.
Additionally, you should have one of the Doorbell Service Packages enabled for your Alarm.com account. This can only be done by your monitoring provider. Your SkyBell device should be connected with the same local WIFI network as your IQ Panel 2 System. The WIFI signal strength for the SkyBell must be at least 90%. The WIFI router must support multi-cast broadcasts. The vast majority of routers support this. If your router does not, it must be replaced to set up this feature.
Lastly, Two Factor Authentication for Alarm.com must be Disabled. This is done by logging into the Alarm.com customer website and choosing Settings > Login Information > Two Factor Authentication > Disable. You can also do it through the Alarm.com Mobile App by click the menu icon (three horizontal bars), followed by Login Information > Two Factor Authentication > Disable.
For this FAQ, we will assume that all of the prerequisites listed above are already met, and that you only need to enable panel notifications from the Alarm.com website. Complete the following steps to enable panel notifications for a SkyBell Video Doorbell on a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 or Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus:
1. Login to ADC website. Access the Alarm.com website using a web browser, and login to your account using your credentials.
2. Access video settings. Click Video on the left-hand side of the screen. Then choose Settings near the top of the screen on the right-hand side. This will take you to video settings.
3. Apply the feature. Choose the appropriate doorbell camera from the video device dropdown menu. Then choose Video Device Info. Make the box "Send Motion Notifications to Panel" and/or "Send Button Pushed Notifications to Panel" as desired.
4. Save the changes. Click the blue Save button in the bottom-right corner to save your changes.
