How Do I Get Sensors On All Partitions to Sound On a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus?
You can get sensors on all partitions to sound on a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus by enabling the Global Intrusion Sounds and Sirens option from the Sound Menu of the system. This will have all alarms and entry/exit sounds activate as a result of sensor activity from any system partition.
Partitioning is a feature that allows you to essentially section-off your alarm system. Each zone on your system will be assigned to a partition. Each partition can be individually armed or disarmed. For example, you might have one partition that is armed with zones that are able to trigger system alarms. Meanwhile, another system partition can be simultaneously disarmed, and its zones will not cause an alarm when faulted. The Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System is able to support up to four (4) partitions.
Normally, the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus will only produce sounds when sensors assigned to Partition 1 are faulted or trigger an alarm. But if you want to have sounds triggered from sensors on all partitions, then you will need to enable the Global Intrusion Sounds and Sirens option from within the system's sound menu. Please note that this option will only be made available if the system is running Firmware Version 2.4.0 or higher. For this FAQ, we will assume that the IQ Panel 2 Plus System is already running a high enough firmware version and that system partitioning is already enabled.
Complete the following steps to enable sounds for sensors on all system partitions.
1. Enter your Installer Code. Since you have partitions enabled on your system, you will need to provide a valid code before you can access any menus. You need to enter your Installer Code to make system changes. The default Installer Code is 1111, but it may have been changed from the default. 2. Access the Sound Menu. Press the small grey bar at the top of the screen. Choose Settings > Advanced Settings > Sound. You will have accessed the Sound Menu.
3. Enable the options. Scroll down to the Partition Sounds sub-menu. Check the box next to "Global Intrusion Sounds and Sirens". Checking this box will have the panel announce whenever a sensor is faulted or causes an intrusion alarm, regardless of which partition the sensor is assigned to. You may also want to check the box next to "Global Auxiliary Sirens". This will have an auxiliary alarm sound across all system partitions, regardless of which partition triggered the auxiliary alarm.
4. Return to main menu. Press the picture of the house at the bottom of the screen to return to the main menu. Your changes will be automatically saved.
