How do I program duress codes on a LYNX Alarm System?
In order to program a duress code for a Honeywell L5000 LYNX Touch or L5100 LYNX Touch alarm system the alarm control panel must first be disarmed. From the home screen, select “More” and then choose “Tools.” When the keypad is presented on the touchscreen, enter your 4-digit Master code to access the master programming options. Select the “Users” icon, and you will access a menu that will allow you to change the master code, babysitter code, duress code, or add or remove additional user codes. Simply change or set the duress code to a 4-digit number you desire. If you have a L3000 LYNX Plus system, the duress code is always user #8. To add a user, press your 4-digit master code + code key + user number (08 for duress) + 4-digit user code. To delete a user, press your 4-digit master code + code key + user number (08 for duress). Wait about three seconds for the LYNX Plus to beep in acknowledgement of the code change. In the event of an emergency, the duress code will silently summon emergency assistance while disarming the alarm system. In case you are in a holdup situation or an intruder has asked you to disarm the LYNX alarm system, the duress code will trick the intruder into thinking you disarmed the system normally. Meanwhile, Alarm Grid central station operators will send the police to respond to your duress situation.
