How Do I Turn Off My Honeywell Alarm System's Chime?

You can turn off your Honeywell Alarm System's chime by following the specific process for the type of Honeywell panel that you own. The process for toggling the chime will be different depending on whether your Honeywell system is a wireless touchscreen panel or a hardwired Vista Panel.

The different processes for turning off the chime on various Honeywell Alarm Panels are outlined below:

Lyric Controller

From the home screen of the Lyric Controller, choose Settings. Then click the "Chime" button, which is found below the volume adjuster and to the left of the "Clean" button. If the chime button has a blue background, then chime is on. If the chime button has a white background, then chime is off. Once chime is off (white background), hit "Save" in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Lynx Touch

From the home screen of the Lynx Touch Panel, choose Security, then More, then Settings. Then find the Chime button at the bottom of the Settings Menu. If the button has a green background, then chime is on. If the button is greyed out, then chime is off. Once chime is off (button is greyed out), hit "Save" in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Honeywell Vista

With the panel in a disarmed state, enter in the following command on the keypad to turn off the chime:

[Master Code] + [9]

The default Master Code on a Vista Panel is 1234. However, this code is usually changed for security purposes. If you do not know the Master Code for the panel, then you can use any valid user code instead.

If the chime is on, the message "Disarmed Chime" will be displayed. But if the message "****Disarmed****" is displayed, then the chime is currently disabled. Entering the [Master Code] + [9] command will toggle between these two settings.

Please note that this will work for any fixed English or alphanumeric Honeywell Wired Keypad that has been set up with a Vista Panel.
