Is an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 Z-Wave Compatible?

Yes, an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 is Z-Wave compatible. However, the system will require an added Z-Wave controller to support Z-Wave devices. The programmed Z-Wave devices can be operated from Alarm.com and from the panel itself. This includes any Z-Wave lights, locks and thermostats.

Once the panel can support Z-Wave devices, a user can then control their Z-Wave devices from the panel itself or through Alarm.com. The only possible Z-Wave controller that can be used with an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5 System is an Alarm.com cellular module with an integrated Z-Wave controller. We strongly recommend adding this module to an XTi or XTi-5 System because of the major benefits that it will provide. In fact, this is widely considered to be the single most important upgrade that can be made to these panels.

Without a cellular communicator, an Interlogix System will be restricted to POTS (plain old telephone service) communication. Cellular communication is much faster and more reliable than traditional telephone service, and it is nearly impossible for others to tamper with. Additionally, cellular service is almost never down, and the signals are not affected by normal power outages. Another benefit of cellular communication is that it will allow the panel to sync with the Alarm.com service. Once a Z-Wave controller has been set up with the XTi or XTi-5 System, Z-Wave devices will need to be added. This can be done from the programming menu of the panel. The user will need to know the system's Installer Code to access this menu. This code is is to 4321 by default. Once Z-Wave devices have been added, they can be controlled from the panel itself or using the Alarm.com interactive service. This makes cellular communication and Alarm.com an extremely convenient tool for end users.
