Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus Vs. Qolsys IQ Panel 4

Qolsys continues to be a leader in the security space. Their very popular IQ Panel 2 is still widely used by many. Now, they have created the new IQ Panel 4. The IQ4 is like an IQ2, but on steroids. They have added nice features to the IQ4, especially with the speakers and optional IQ Base.

The IQ Panel 4 and the IQ Panel 2 have basically the same user interface. So far, Qolsys has kept the same menu options, so the transition from one panel to the other is nearly seamless. The IQ4 is more powerful, better sounding, and includes more up-to-date hardware. Although those few differences are noticeable, it does not mean you need to replace your operational IQ Panel 2. However, if you need a panel replacement, the IQ Panel 4 is the way to go.

The option to choose the panel in either black or white is new to the IQ Panel 4. The IQ4 still provides all the various legacy RF receiver options that were available in the IQ Panel 2 Plus. These include the 319.5 MHz (Qolsys/GE/Interlogix) flavor, 345 MHz (Honeywell/2gig) flavor, and 433 MHz (DSC) flavor. All three (3) panel flavors that offer legacy RF receivers also support the 915 MHz PowerG frequency sensors. There is also a PowerG-only IQ Panel 4 kit that does not offer legacy receiver support. The panel in this kit is only available in white and comes in either a Verizon or an AT&T version.

You are correct, as we are a dealer in the US all the products we have available for power G Sensors are 915Mhz. All online configuration is handled by the dealers, where as Local programming can be completed directly at the system interface screens. Hopefully you are able to find a dealer that is able to work with you to find a solution for your system that has the European Frequency for Power G Sensors.
alas i forgot to mention i am in the UK 868.1 is our alarm frequency had to decline purchase at the end due to the fact you can only have it installed by a professional, no diy allowed to be able to connect to alarm.co it has to be installed by a company on their list bit of a con , there are some of us who were caretakers and upgraded alarms etc..like myself..
Hi P. Gray, We hope you are able to track down a replacement for your system. Unfortunately all the systems we sell that support Power G are all 915Mhz.
hii looked a bit deeper and discovered the frequency 915 Mhz applies to us units, the UK one shows 868 Mhz as it conforms to EU standards i think otherwise it will be a return alas the company just does not respond to any tech requests as our powermaster is now refusing to charge the alarm box it is over 12 years old on constantly and does need an upgrade we bit the bullet on the information we gleemed from an EU leaflet and have had no choice but to purchase one (the 4) at least if not compatable we can return it due to distance selling regulations in the UK,but very frustrated by the companies non response seems its a closed shop on selling the panels
Hello P. Gray, The power G Frequency for the PowerMaster 30 G2 to see if the Power G sensors would be compatible. Unfortunately your PowerMaster 30 G panel Power G sensors use a Frequency that is not compatible With the IQ2/IQ4/IQ NS/ IQ Pro system, as the Frequency used for the IQ panels Power G Sensors are (915Mhz) which is different than the Frequency the PowerMaster 30 G2 which is power G (868-869 Mhz). If you have any Additional Questions, please feel free to reach out to our Support email at Support@Alarmgrid.com.
i am dumbfounded, i have a powermaster 30 g2 and all associated sensors 868 mhz range,i would like to upgrade as my phone system on 3g is being closed down, the only alternative ive seen for visonic is the powermaster 360r, but that is a 2019 its 2023, and i would like a smart panel the company that has taken over Johnston controls have a Qol sys iq panel 4, which would be ideal but no-one and i have emailed many people can tell me that the sensors i already have (pirs etc) would work, ive seen the video of a women linking in texacom sensors and alas i find it confusing the compatibility chart, i cannot afford a new panel and all the sensors and sounders and pir cams together but my present panel is failing me changed batteries and it still shows the problem..any help would be appreciated i am 66
