What is an 803 Signal on a VISTA Panel?
Zone 803 is used by default for AlarmNet devices to report their own trouble conditions. On Vista-128/250 panels, zones in the 800 range supervise keypad bus devices. The radio, by default, is set to address 03, hence 803. This makes AlarmNet issues easily distinguishable from other issues.
Communicator issues reported by the panel will follow reporting logic for that panel, and may indicate a different zone number. For example, on a Vista-20P, an issue reported by an AlarmNet Communicator for itself may report as Zone 803, while the same issue reported by the alarm panel, may report as Zone 103.
