Description
The QOLSYS-IQP2-4208PK-VZ is a 3-1 security system kit that is ideal for smaller homes and apartments. The kit includes a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus System with 433 MHz Daughtercard and Verizon LTE, three (3) VERSA-DSC Contacts, and one (1) DSC PG9914 PowerG Motion Detecting Sensor.
The Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus is highly respected in the security industry. It has a sleek and modern design with a 7" touchscreen that is super appealing to end users. New users also appreciate the simple and straightforward menus that make navigating the system an absolute breeze. The panel also includes great features like 128 wireless zones, automatic Bluetooth disarming, partitioning support, integrated Z-Wave Plus, live-streaming for Alarm.com Cameras, and much more.
This particular IQ Panel 2 Plus supports 433 MHz sensors and 915 MHz PowerG Sensors. Legacy DSC Sensors operate at 433 MHz, and they can be readily used with the system. However, you may find that PowerG Sensors are better-suited for your needs. PowerG Sensors can communicate with the IQ Panel 2 Plus from up to 2,000 feet away, and they utilize 128-bit AES encryption for enhanced wireless security. With this kit, we included three (3) 433 MHz VERSA-DSC Door and Window Contacts, as well as one (1) PowerG Motion Sensor.
Another great aspect of this system is its built-in Verizon LTE Communicator and WIFI card. These are used for connecting the system with the Alarm.com servers. Alarm.com requires that the cellular communicator be activated. That means you will need a monitoring plan that includes both cellular service and access to Alarm.com. If you are considering different plans, you might look into a Gold or Platinum Plan from Alarm Grid. Once activated, you can control the system from the Alarm.com website or free mobile app.
Note: The IQ Panel 2 Plus supports up to 152 total Z-Wave devices for local Z-Wave control. There is also a smaller limit for different types of Z-Wave devices. The individual limit for each Z-Wave device type must be manually increased within Installer/Dealer Level Programming. Please also note that Alarm.com has its own smaller limit of 122 total Z-Wave devices for remote operation and use with smart scenes. More information on Alarm.com Z-Wave limits can be found in this FAQ.
The breakdown for the maximum allowed of each device type for local control, is shown in the table below. If you want more information on adjusting IQ2+ Z-Wave device limits, please check this other FAQ.
