Installing a doorbell camera like the Alarm.com Slim Line II can offer you so much convenience. This doorbell camera begins recording a clip whenever movement is detected from its internal PIR motion detector (up to 8-foot range), or when someone presses the doorbell button. The PIR motion sensor offers three (3) levels of sensitivity (low, medium, and high), so you can configure the device to your liking. By integrating this device with your Alarm.com account, you can get push notifications on your phone whenever the doorbell camera is activated. You can then go to a live view of the camera and see the person at your door, all through the convenient Alarm.com Mobile App. The Alarm.com Slim Line II also includes an integrated digital omni-directional microphone and speaker so you can engage in a real-time conversation with your visitor. While the Alarm.com Slim Line II Doorbell Camera isn't as powerful as the high-end Alarm.com ADC-VDB770 Doorbell Camera, it is still a very good product in its own right. The camera has a recording quality rated at 720p, which is fine for getting a nice clear view of anyone at your door and monitoring the front of your home. Mounting hardware for the Alarm.com Slim Line II Doorbell Camera comes included, and you should have no problem installing it on your own with just a few basic tools as long as you'll be replacing an existing doorbell. Just keep in mind that you will need a 10 ohm, 10-watt resistor if you plan to use the device in a location without a mechanical chime. We recommend checking out this guide for more information on the subject. Additionally, a SkyBell Digital Doorbell Adapter will be needed if the device is being used with a digital doorbell chime. The device has an operational power range of 10VAC to 30VAC, 10VA OR 12VDC, 0.5A to 1.0A. For consistent functionality, a minimum power rating of 12VAC is needed, but it is recommended that the camera receives 16VAC to 24VAC for best results.

In order to get the camera to communicate with the Alarm.com Servers, you will need to connect the device to your local WIFI network. The Alarm.com Slim Line II Doorbell Camera will work with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WIFI networks. It is strongly advised that you have an upload speed of at least 2 Mbps if you intend on using this doorbell camera. Other specifications for the device include its 1.3 MP Video Camera in full color, a 170° horizontal and 110° vertical field of view (FoV), adjustable recording resolution (up to 720p), infrared (IR) night vision for capturing footage in the dark, and a weather-resistant rating of IPX4. The device has dimensions of 4.8"L x 1.4"W x 1.1"D, an operating temperature of -40°F to 122°F, an operating humidity of 10% to 80%, and it weighs 3.1 ounces (oz). Since the Alarm.com Slim Line II Doorbell Camera is a SkyBell device, you can technically add one (1) to your account, even if you do not have a true full video monitoring plan. Alarm.com will allow a user to pair one (1) single SkyBell device, and receive 400 monthly and 400 total clips as a nice courtesy if they do not have full video monitoring. Keep in mind that if you do not have video monitoring service, then you will be restricted to just one (1) video doorbell device, and there will be no way to increase your monthly or total clip limits from 400. If you want to use additional cameras and/or increase your clip limits, then a true video surveillance monitoring plan will be needed. Please also note that this product is designed for use with Alarm.com only. It should not be used with another interactive monitoring platform like Total Connect 2.0 or Telguard HomeControl Flex. It should also never be used with the native SkyBell App. Pairing this device with the SkyBell App may make it permanently incompatible with the Alarm.com service.
