How Do I Enable Live Camera Viewing on A Qolsys IQ4 Hub?

To enable live viewing of compatible cameras on an IQ4 Hub, first, connect the Hub to WIFI. Enable "Stream Video to the Security Panel Screen" in video settings on the customer website or app. Then on the panel, swipe left to the Live Video Cameras page, tap the desired camera, and hit play.

Alarm.com offers an extensive lineup of video cameras and video doorbells. Many of these cameras support features such as Live View and Live Answer. The first step in enabling Live View is to be sure the service package for the account includes at least one video device. For Alarm Grid customers, this is a Platinum Plan (Full or Self) and/or a standalone Video Monitoring plan.

In order to view a live camera feed on the IQ4 Hub, you will also need at least one (1) compatible camera. Video doorbell cameras can perform Live Answer, and a 2-way conversation can be held between the person at the doorbell and a person standing at the alarm panel, at an IQ Remote keypad, or an authorized user of the Alarm.com app. For non-doorbell cameras, only certain models can support the 2-way audio feature. A list of all cameras that currently support Live View is shown below.

To enable Live View for Alarm.com video cameras on the Qolsys IQ4 Hub, follow the steps below:

1. Verify panel WIFI. Verify the panel is connected to WIFI. To do this, from the Home screen, tap the gray bar at the top of the screen then select Settings > Advanced Settings > Enter Installer or Dealer code (defaults are 1111 or 2222 respectively) > System Tests > Dual Path Test > Start. Verify that the WIFI path test is successful.
2. Verify camera connection. Using the customer app or website, verify the camera or cameras to be streamed are connected to WIFI (or Ethernet depending on the camera model). Do this by making sure you can view each camera through the app or the website.
3. Enable live stream to panel. You can do this through the customer app or website:
   • Via Website: Log into the Alarm.com website then go to Video (on the left) > Settings (upper right) > "Stream Video to Security Panel Screen" (bottom of page). This will take you to a list of cameras. In the column for "View at the Panel" put a checkmark by each camera you want to be able to live stream at the panel. Once you're finished, be sure to click the Save Button.
   • Via app: Log into the Alarm.com customer app, preferably as the administrator. Go to Security System > Settings (Gear icon) > Stream Video to Panel > Enable the desired cameras > Save.

To view a live video stream at the panel, swipe left on the panel until you get to the screen titled "Live video Cameras". You'll see a list of cameras, each with a "Play" button. Tap the camera you wish to view. To end the live stream, you can press the X icon, or the red icon that looks like a phone disconnect button.

When live streaming cameras that support 2-way audio, press the green microphone icon to talk through the camera. Use the volume slider to adjust the volume you hear for audio coming from the camera. To exit, press the red phone disconnect icon. For doorbell cameras, you will have additional options.

In addition to 2-way audio with video doorbell cameras, you will also see icons that allow you to disarm the system, and unlock a door (if applicable). To access security system features, tap the icon on the panel's screen that looks like a padlock. You'll see the system's current armed status. Press the right arrow (>) and then choose "Disarm" if you would like to disarm the system. If you have a lock on the account, you'll also have the option to click a right arrow for the lock and change its state.
