Honeywell VISTA-15PSIA - Alarm Control Panel
Submitted on 10/17/2012 Shawn B
I live in Dover New Jersey and work for the police department. In our city all new alarm installations require a SIA panel so I chose the V15PSIA. I have had the system up and running for a month now and have never set off a false alarm. I'm sure I woulda never set one off anyways but as a police officer I figured I'd play by the rules.
Honeywell L5000 - LYNX Touch Wireless Alarm Control Panel

I upgraded an old LYNXR-I that was in my house when I bought it. After lots of trying, I wasn't able to get the LYNXR-I working but didn't want to waste all of the sensors that were already installed in the house. I called Alarm Grid for advice and they told me the l5000 would allow me to use all of my existing sensors. Sterling walked me through programming each sensor into the l5000 and it's worked great so far.

I wasn't going to buy a tablet but once I got my Honeywell LYNX Touch system, I saw the Mid-7h and figured it would be a good addition. Now I use it to browse the web when I'm lounging on the couch and I can use it to control my security system. Two devices in one!
Honeywell IS215T - Long-range Motion Detecting Wired PIR Sensor

This goes pretty discreetly in the corner of my room. I put it in my living room, and it does a great job of detecting motion. You can't really even see it because it's on a white wall, and it just sort of nicely blends in. It took about 15 minutes to install, and I'm happy with how it functions, and I'm sure I could have instaleld it more quickly if it weren't the first time I was installing one.

I was kind of intimidated by this piece, but when I got it I followed the instructions on AlarmGrid's installation manual and I had it installed in abotu 20 minutes. Really easy, and simple, and it works great. Thanks!
Honeywell MPS52 - Overhead Door Contact

I instaleld this door contact on my shop's garage door, like the instructions suggest. It works like a charm, looks great, and it seems to be standing up to the use. It's been there a month, and it's gotten an incredible amount of use. It was easy to install, and it fits in with the look of the shop.

I am a security system enthusiast, and I've been one for a long time. The Honeywell L5100 is the best panel that Honeywell has ever come out with.! I love love love it. Easy to install, easy to use, and wonderfully functional.
Honeywell 6150RF - Fixed English Alarm Keypad with Integrated Transceiver

The 6150rf was recommended because I wanted to add a keypad and some wireless sensors. Turns out my system didnt have a wireless receiver even though the salesman that sold it to me promised me it would. Now that I found Alarm Grid Im glad I dont have to buy anything else from my local company. Sterling helped me save money by getting this instead of a keypad and separate wireless receiver and he walked me through setting it up. Took me about 20 minutes and now I have wireless smoke detectors in my house.
Honeywell 6160 - VISTA Series Alphanumeric Alarm Keypad

I had a local alarm company install a Honeywell V20P system last year. Every since then, every time I need something changed on my system they try to charge me $90 to come out and make the change even if the change takes 2 seconds. I got fed up with that after the 1st time so I called Alarm Grid since they talked about do it yourself security. They were very helpful and told me that the keypad my company sold me can't program the system...big surprise! They suggested I buy the 6160 to replace it and once I got it they helped me install it. I bought a 5811 contact too for the door to my garage and they walked me through using the 6160 to program the 5811. Now the sensor works great and I love having the option to make changes myself without having to pay!
Honeywell Tuxedo Touch WIFI - Talking Color Graphic Touchscreen Alarm Keypad

This touchscreen allows me to control my security system and do wireless home automation. So far I've added Z-Wave locks for my front door and back door and I replaced my thermostats with Z-Wave thermostats. I have it programmed so that when I turn my system off, it sets my thermostat to 75 and unlocks my doors. When I turn my system on, it locks my doors and sets my thermostat to 80. Now, I'm thinking about getting some Z-Wave lights so I can control that too.
