Which Locks Work w/ an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5?

Basically all Z-Wave locks work with an Interlogix Simon XTi or XTi-5. But before a Z-Wave lock can be used, a Z-Wave controller must first be added to the system. We recommend using a cellular module with an Integrated Z-Wave controller. Any Z-Wave locks can be operated from Alarm.com.

A Z-wave lock can be used much in the same way as other types of Z-Wave devices. They can be set to activate automatically based on a schedule or with certain pre-determined system events. Many Z-Wave devices are programmed in a way that saves the user money. For example, a common setting is to have the system's Z-Wave lights and the Z-Wave thermostat turn off when a user sets their system to arm away. These devices might then be programmed to reactivate when the system is disarmed later. After a Z-Wave lock has been included in the Z-Wave network, it will also be able to be controlled in this way.

But to use any Z-Wave devices with a Simon XTi or XTi-5 System, the user will first need to add a Z-Wave controller. For these systems, an added cellular communicator will also include an integrated Z-Wave controller. Upgrading to cellular is one of the most important upgrades that can be made for a Simon XTi or XTi-5 System. Cellular service for alarm systems is known for being very fast, and it the most reliable communication path available. Without cellular service, a Simon XTi or XTi-5 would be forced to rely on a telephone line for monitoring service. This technology is widely considered to be unsuitable for most modern applications. It is slow, unreliable, and vulnerable to outside tampering. We encourage you to check out our Alarm Monitoring Page for more information about cellular monitoring.

One thing that makes Z-Wave locks very convenient is their ability to be controlled through the Alarm.com Interactive Service. This service can be accessed from any web browser or through the Alarm.com Mobile App. Using the mobile app, a user can lock or unlock their Z-Wave door lock from anywhere in the world that has accessible cellular service. This is great for situations in which a user needs to lock or unlock their door while they are away. Alarm.com will also allow users to arm and disarm their panel and check the status of their sensors at any time. Other Z-Wave devices besides Z-Wave locks can also be controlled through Alarm.com.
